HAPPY BIRTHDAY NIGERIA

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NIGERIA!
like everyman's birthday, you have added another year.

A new year of new Plans, aspiration, strategy, Dreams, hopes, budgets etc on how to keep a standard you already have and grow up to that you don't.

I often times sit and wonder aloud, "were I as old as Nigeria, I would have achieved more" but on the other

hand, "would I have coped as much as Nigeria have till this day. "

You are just 44yrs today and have achieved so much, produced so much talents and still have plans to achieve more.

I give thanks to God for making me part of you, a country that has so much challenges to face, Locally, Nationally
and globally.

Not leaving out our past heros who started this race some very Long years ago- we remember those who died in the process and those still alive and still struggling.

I once heard someone say words that was directed to me and it goes thus:

We wouldn't have our lifestyles,
We would live how life has been,
All because someone stood up,
So stand up for those brave men, so I stand.

I have searched, Found and rewrote a poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow for you and it goes thus:

Thou, too, sail on, O Ship of State!
Sail on, O Union, strong and great!
Humanity with all its fears,
With all the hopes of future years,
Is hanging breathless on the fate!
We know what Master laid the keel,
What Workmen wrought thy ribs of steel,
Who made each mast, and sail, and rope,
What anvils rang, what hammers beat,
In what forge and what a heat
Were shaped the anchors of thy hope!
Fear not each sudden sound and shock,
'Tis of the wave and not the rock;
'Tis but the flapping of the sail,
And not a rent made by the gale!
In spite of rock and tempest's roar,
In spite of false lights on the shore,
Sail on, nor fear to breast the sea!
Sail on, nor fear to make changes!
Our hearts, our hopes, are all with thee,
Our hearts, our hopes, our prayers, our tears,
Our faith triumphant o'er our fears,
Are all with thee, - are all with thee

44 Years ago, the British let go-we all know the story and since then you have single handedly found paths for yourself and working tirelessly to meet high standards. This race we (the Present Generation) have joined to run to better improve and uphold your honour and glory.

As Yeoman we come to BRAND YOU in every single way we can to make you a better Place to Live In. for this I make this promise:

The People of today
just rant and rave.
They burn my symbol of freedom,
I just want to grab and shake them.
They have no sense of pride,
For your beauty you never denied.

Like my brothers before me,
I have fought to keep your colors (Green White Green)free.
With every battle that we had won,
you were there to show who was number one.
When our brothers had died,
you caressed their bodies with pride.

We have our leaders to thank,
for allowing these people their prank.
To them it may be a cloth of colors,
to me it stands for freedom and honor.
We must ask our leaders to debate,
and change our flags fate.

My Nigerian Flag this promise I give,
to hold you high and let you live.
My words to you are profound,
I'll keep your colors off the ground.
I will guard and protect your stars and stripes,
with all my power, might and life.

Instead of reading you the normal birthday jingle, I'll sing you the National anthem in a reformed and better way

that makes more sence to me than what I term as the old Anthem and birthday jingle to show you my Loyalty and Honesty to you...It Goes thus:

I Pledge Alligiance/fidelity to Nigeria my Country
To serve her with my Talents and Strenght.
To do and stand for what is right at All Times
To Obey the rule of Law
To stand against Injustice
To stand against Corruption
To influence others to do Good, beginning with my Family
To uphold the Unity of Nigeria and Respect the rights of others to life, liberty and the enjoyment of their properity.
SO HELP ME GOD

LONG LIVE THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA,
LONG LIVE THE PEOPLE OF NIGERIA AND
LONG LIVE THE PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA
