We have a very big family house in our very big family compound back in my home town.
Because it's not a very remote location unlike a typical Village, Mama (my Grand Ma was popularly called) would always take her mat and lie outside the big House.
Here in the city, news reach us always that mama likes to stay outside the house and sing to herself while others are in the big house having fun-either from watching TV, listening to musics or News, Playing games or just chatting with one another.

Late December last year, we visited our home town from the city and alas! all we always hear turned out to be true.

One day, I went outside to sit with her, asking her questions that didn't go beyond the reasons why she has taked to this everyday routine, and vividly if I remember, this was what transpired:

Me: Mama!, while in the city, we hear you don't like to stay in the big house...is that true?

Mama: Nwa-m (My child) it's been 3days since you came back home, have I always stayed in that Big House?

Me: (smiling) That is true, but why is it so?

Mama: Because nature is what has kept me alive this long, don't forget I turned 90 this year and because of this, I still give thanks to nature and still respect it.

Me: do you do that by staying outside?

Mama: Yes, because the feel of natures Fresh Breeze is healthier than that long white thing standing in the sitting Room, and that has helped me live a healthy life.

Me: but mama that thing is called a Split AC (Air conditioner), makes you warm when the weather is cold, mild when the weather is harsh, makes u cool when you are all worn out and tired from a very long jorney or work..like it did us after we got back.

Mama: Well Nwa-m, I might not be as litrate as you are, but there something I know so well. It's the fact that that AC or whatever you called it affects the human body..especially one as old as mine. If I had lived with it all my life, I would not have lived this long and even if I did, I wouldn't be as active and healthy as I am today.
I have told your dad to build me a hut and let me stay there,because the feel of the Fresh Breeze of Nature keeps you going, does all that you stated that the AC can do and lots more.
for example, the Birds in the air, Animals on Land and the Trees..don't leave by artificial Air, if they did, they would never grow..

Me: Mama, I see what you mean, I haven't done this much, i think I would try it and see if I get convinced.

Mama: (Smiling) Nwa-m, go into the house, in my room, there is an extra Mat that would be big enough to accomodate you while you lie by me..I feel like a nap already.

Me: Ok ma.
I left mama to get the Mat..I tried it out beside her, she sang me to a quick nap before Long.
When it got very late, we both went into the house.

The evening of the next day, we were again out together and same thing happened.

It went on like a routine for me , I was always staying out with mama enjoying the true Natural Freshness of Natures own air and before long all who have always reported mama started staying out instead of inside the house and having the AC blow on them artificial air -which from research is not very healthy for the human Body.

We finally return back to the city all Healthy (Smiling)

We actually had a fun filled time out more in the Fresh Breeze of Nature than the artificial Air of the Air Conditioner.

Till date I spend more time out in the Fresh Breeze of nature-where I actually wrote this article first on paper before it's compilation into the computer.
